The Crofton Track team competed hard and one athlete even managed to break a school record at the Mid-State Conference Track meet at Norfolk Catholic on Saturday, April 29. 

A number of team members were not able to compete due to absence or injury but even with the lack of athletes Crofton did not disappoint and still managed to bring home some medals despite the extremely tough competition.

For the boys,Crofton placed eighth and had four medalists. Sophomore Wyatt Tramp placed sixth with a pole vault of 10-6, and sophomore Braxton Foxoven pole vaulted a new personal record height of 11-0 to earn a fifth place medal. 

Junior Jace Foxoven who was just three inches away from the school record for triple jump, placed fifth with a jump of 41-03.

The last medal of the day for the boys was the 4x100 relay team consisting of senior Wesley Lucht, sophomore Sam Pinkleman, J. Foxoven, and freshman Jace Panning with a time of 47.56 placing sixth. 

The Crofton Girls Track team managed to bring home thirteen medals placing fifth as a team. Junior Ellie Tramp broke her own school record in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 15.25 seconds earning her a second place medal. She also earned a second place medal in the 300 meter hurdles with a time of 47.73 seconds. 

In pole vault freshman Addyson Ostermeyer placed sixth with a vault of 8-0. Junior Caitlin Guenther placed fourth in triple jump with a leap of 34-3. Guenther also placed fifth in Discus with a throw of 106-11. 

The girls 4x800 relay consisted of junior Kaylee Mauch, freshman Sophia Wortmann, junior Elizabeth Wortmann, and sophomore Rylie Arens with a time of 10.46 placed fourth. 
The 4x400 relay placed fifth consisting of Mauch, R. Arens, E. Wortmann, and Tramp with a time of 4.28. 

The 4x100 relay team placed fifth as well, consisting of sophomore Sammie Allen, senior Blair Jordan, C. Guenther, and Tramp with a time of 53.59. 

Junior Jordyn Arens placed first with a time of 12.24 in the 3200m run. She also placed first in the 1600m with a time of 5.43. S. Wortmann placed third with a time of 6.12. R. Arens placed third in the 800m run with a time of 2.31 wrapping up the girls placings.The Warriors competed well against conference opponents who pushed them to perform better. This meet was a good opportunity to get ready for districts which are coming up on May 11.

There will be another track meet at Norfolk Catholic on May 4, at 1 p.m.
