The Crofton Warrior and Lady Warrior track teams traveled to Omaha for the 2023 Nebraska School Activities Association’s state track invitational – returning home with medals for five athletes, and a three-peat Championship from one runner.
The Crofton Warrior boys’ teams had two competitors – Jace Foxhoven and Trevor Sejnoha, but neither were able to score any points in the overall ranking.
The Lady Warriors had a bit of a different tale, medaling in five of their competitions.
Junior Jordyn Arens was the ‘belle of the ball’ for the invite, winning the 1600m run and 3200m run for a “two-time, three-peat” victory in the races.
She won the 3200m run in 2021 with a time of 11:16; in 2022 with 11:28 and this year with a time of 11:23.94.
Arens took gold in the 1600m run in 2021 with a time of 5:14.71, and again in 2022 with a time of 5:17.98, and she also won this year, 2023, with a final time of 5:12.69.
With the two first-place finishes, she provided 20 of the Crofton girls’ 30 points, the remaining 10 came from eight by way of junior Ellie Tramp, who won 4th in the 300m hurdles and 6th place in the 100m hurdles.
The last two points for the girls’ squad was the 4x800m relay that received seventh overall with a time of 10:14.27.
