On a cool Friday afternoon the Warriors took the field at 3:00 p.m. to face the Bulldogs of Bridgeport for the second round of the state playoffs in Crofton – taking a 72-34 win and moving to the quarterfinals in the State tournament.

The Warriors were ready from the start of the game. On one of junior Wyatt Tramp's first carries of the game he took off for a 60-yard rushing touchdown. The Warriors were up 8-0 after sophomore Jace Panning converted the two point conversion.

In the first quarter senior Robbie Fisher intercepted the football, which led to a Tramp 4-yard rushing touchdown for the Warriors. With 6:49 left in the first quarter, senior Will Steffen found himself in the end zone after breaking away for a 54-yard rushing touchdown. Crofton now led 20-0. 

After driving down the field, Bridgeport scored but was not able to convert the two-point conversion. The Warriors marched down the field and Tramp scored a 5-yard touchdown, with Panning putting in the two point conversion making the score 28-6.

Soon after, senior Seth Pinkelman broke away on a 41-yard touchdown making the score 36-6. Pinkelman said he was glad that he could help the team with a big win.
With 10:21 left in the second quarter, Bridgeport found the end zone and converted the two point conversion, moving the score to 36-6.

Bridgeport closed the gap by connecting again on a pass in the end zone with 3:31 left in the first half, marching the score 44-14. The Warriors kept up the pace in the second half when Steffen punched in another Warrior touchdown making it 58-22. Bridgeport found a gap to score making it 58-28 at the end of the third quarter.

In the fourth quarter the Warriors were not done. Steffen found the end zone early making it  64-28. Panning scored a touchdown up the middle extending the score to 72-34 with 6:07 left in the game, which was the final score of the game. 

With the win against Bridgeport, the Warriors are moving on to the quarterfinals for the first time since 2016. 

Tramp was the offensive player of the game with five touchdowns and rushing 216 yards. Junior Braxston Foxhoven was the defensive player of the game with six tackles and six yards for loss 
The Warriors will be traveling Friday night to Elkhorn Valley (Tilden) to take on the Falcons on Friday Nov.3 at 6:00 p.m.
