The exponential potential for Crofton’s cross country season is great.

The returners and the newcomers are all showing great accomplishments at practice. “After this summer's workouts I’m excited to see what our team can do against our competition,” Charlie Steffen stated.

Returning seniors include Charlie Steffen, Darin Babcock, Sophia Wortmann, Emily Guenther, Ella Reifenrath and Pamela Dennis. The experience these seniors possess from years of cross country practice should show that the capabilities are endless.

Crofton’s home meet has been moved from the Crofton golf course to the Weigand camping grounds. Wortmann, among other runners, worked at Weigand over the summer. “I’m excited to see the new scenery and experience a whole new race right where I’ve been working all summer.”

Other team members are looking forward to other aspects of the season. Sophomore Fred Dennis has been known to wear some fashionable shoes from the past years. “I’m excited to show everyone my Sacouney Havok XC spikes,” he stated.

The team adds new assistant coach Mrs. Brooke Schroeder coming from Wayne State University Head coach Mr. Mickey Doerr said, “Coach Schroeder has been an awesome addition to our program. She brings a lot of experience from her competitive days at Wayne State, and she’s done a great job of bringing that experience to help the program take another step forward.”
