The Crofton One Act team traveled to Lutheran High Northeast on Saturday, November 15. The Warriors competed against nine other teams and placed third overall.

Senior Ellie Foxhoven stated, “I thought our tech crew did very well as well as our actors. I believe we will keep improving and pushing ourselves as state one-act comes closer.” Seniors Sophia Wortmann, Katie Neuharth, Ellie Foxhoven, Jackson Lynde, and sophomore Kaden Arens all received an “Outstanding Acting” award.

Crofton’s one act play tells a story that is important in today’s world. The play, “Can I Ask You a Question?” is written locally by one of Crofton’s One Act coaches, Shiann Hansen. “I think the students are doing a wonderful job of sharing the story! They’ve worked hard to infuse the emotion and feeling of the play into their performance, and I couldn’t be prouder of their hard work,” stated Hansen.

Crofton then went to Norfolk for their Mid-State Competition where they competed in the famous Johnny Carson Theatre. The theatre is able to seat 1,234 people and is where the state competition is held. The Warriors placed seventh overall. Sophia Wortmann stated, “Personally I think we did a great job of reacting to each other, however I do think that our facials can be MUCH bigger.”

Sophia Wortmann, Katie Neuharth, Jackson Lynde, and Kaden Arens all received an “Outstanding Performance” award.

The team hosted their dinner theatre on Sunday, November 23 when the team showed the community all of their progress, and how they are putting together their locally written play. Holly Wortmann was grateful for the community in supporting the arts.
