The Warriors took on the St. Mary’s Cardinals on Thursday, Dec 4.
The Warriors unfortunately lost but were able to execute on both sides of the ball against the D2 defending State Champs. The player of the game was Jr. Trevor Allen racked up 15 points, 2 assists, and 7 rebounds. “We took a step in the right direction and we just have to finish it now,” stated Allen.
The Warriors started off hot leading 11-10 in the first quarter with some major improvements for the Warriors. It didn't take long for the Cardinals to figure out their team with them ending the half on top 26-23. The Warriors ran out of juice in the third Quarter with the Cardinals ending the third quarter on top 43-32. It was all St. Mary’s in the fourth, ending the game with a score of 57-38.
The Warriors traveled down to Laurel to take on the Bears Friday, Dec 5. The Warriors have not defeated the Bears since 2014 and were looking for a strong win, which they certainly achieved. The player of the game was Soph. Preston Foxhoven, racking up 23 points, 2 assists, and 3 rebounds.
The Warriors came out slow in the first quarter down to the Bears 12-14. LLC had the momentum in the second quarter, but Jr. Tyson Jackson silenced them with a three point buzzer beater to end the half, with the Warriors up 35-33. The Warriors were looking more organized in the third quarter and went up 56-49.“It was very scrappy in the fourth quarter,” stated Foxhoven with both teams going back and forth but eventually the Warriors ran away with it 71-63. It ended the 11 year losing streak for the Warriors against the Bears
