A Crofton Alum recently contacted the school about making a donation with a specific request
to improve athletics – and added $100,000 to help that goal.
After several discussions with the donor, and between the Board of Education, School Administration, and Coaches, the school landed on utilizing the funds for the Track and Field.
The donor’s family has a history of participation and success in Track and Field – so this is very fitting for the donor and their family.
At this time the school has planned to update the field event areas. The Donor wishes to remain anonymous at this time. “We’re so grateful for his generosity!” said Superintendent Mark Wragge.
Since publishing this information in the District's December Newsletter, the school has also picked up another donation for athletics.
These donors (husband and wife) are also Crofton alumni, and anonymous donors. “We are so grateful for their generosity too!” said Wragge.
Other improvements the district would like to tackle include: new bleachers in the elementary school gym, new flooring in the elementary school gym, an additional side hoop in the elementary school gym, and 3 “rectangular” backboards in the elementary school gym to replace the “fan” shaped backboards.
Bigger projects include two additional locker rooms at the high school, a wrestling space at the high school, and a school / community weight room.
If anyone else might be considering a donation or wish to add to these donations please contact Superintendent Mark Wragge at: 402-388-2440 or mwragge@croftonwarriors.org.
