The Plainview High School Class of 1975 met for their 50-year reunion on June 6-8.

The activities started on Friday with breakfast at Serendipity.

Then, on a "Magical Mystery Tour" road trip to a fancy house in the hills west of Verdigre, arranged by Alden Zuhlke.

Dinner was in Niobrara, with stops of interest along the route, ending at Rob and Val's "Bud Barn" for an evening lunch joined by other friends.

Saturday morning found the classmates touring the old and new parts of the high school, and attending the All-Class Reunion banquet, at which they were the honored 50-year class.

Saturday afternoon, the class toured around Plainview on a trolley. From 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., the actual class meeting was held in the back room if Mary's Restaurant. Greg Born had connections for a good deal. Snacks were provided.

Class President, Mark Buss, welcomed everyone and had some humorous comments. Life journeys, memories, and stories were shared.

Dean Kruger was a shoe-in for the furthest traveled award. He was in China for many years, and now lives in the Philippines. Alas, his plans changed, and could not make it back to Plainview.

Controversy arose with a dispute about the class son. Fortunately, it was settled without bloodshed, The six deceased classmates were remembered, and many stayed to visit after 7 p.m.

On Sunday, the members still in town rode the float in the Grand Parade.

Over the weekend, of the 51 remaining "75ers" - 35 were listed present on the dance register.

A good time was had by all, and the motto adopted for the weekend was "Cheers to 50 Years!'
