Morgan Nincehelser

The Plainview Pirate harriers saw their 2025 season come to an end at the 2025 NSAA Class D District Three Invite in Ainsworth on Thursday, Oct. 16.

At the district competition, the Pirates ran against athletes from 19 other Class D schools with the hopes of placing in the top three in team standings or top 15 individually to qualify for state.

To begin the day, the Lady Pirates took the course and competed with a full team in a field of 46 runners.

Leading the way for the Lady Pirates in their final voyage of the season was Morgan Nincehelser, who narrowly missed a spot in the top 15 with a 23rd place finish and a time of 24 minutes and 14 seconds.

Shortly behind Nincehelser was the duo of Addie Hodson and Makenzie Mosel, who finished in 36th and 39th, respectively.

The combined efforts of these three Pirates earned the team 68 total points, which placed them seventh overall.

With a seventh-place team finish and no runners inside of the top 15 individually, the Lady Pirates saw their season come to an end.

After the Lady Pirates had their turn, the duo of Bernardo Camacho and Jaxon Jelinek hit the course to compete in the field of over 70 runners in the boys’ race.

With just two runners, the Pirates were ineligible to qualify for state as a team, which meant the duo had to land in the top 15 individually to see their season continue.

Unfortunately, neither Camacho nor Jelinek were able to break that barrier.

With a 57th place finish from Jelinek and a 67th place finish from Camacho, both saw their seasons come to an end.

With the conclusion of the 2025 season, seniors Nincehelser and Hodson have seen their high school cross country careers come to and end, while the rest of the Pirate runners will have the opportunity to compete in the 2026 season.
