The Crofton Board of Education passed a resolution,4-2, authorizing the calling of a special election to ask voters about a $12.5 million bond for renovations, repairs and new construction at Crofton Community Schools at their meeting on January 15. Throughout this past week of winter weather, temperatures have dropped well below zero, and the snow has fallen. While nearly the entire state of Nebraska got a taste, some areas received more than others. Northeast Nebraska was one of the main targets of the storm, with some areas receiving over a foot of snow, causing school and community cancellations and postponements of activities left and right... Crofton’s Lady Warriors took on Niobrara-Verdigre lat week, winning 56-22 in the contest on December 14.
Operation Christmas Child a success... Students at St. Rose of Lima School recently participated in the Operation Christmas Child program, preparing 63 shoebox gifts filled with small toys, school supplies, and hygiene items for needy children. Operation Christmas Child is one of the many opportunities for St. Rose students to practice charity, to be of service to others, and to help the poor. Pictured with the shoebox gifts are the sixth grade students of St. Rose of Lima School.
