During Fridays Pirate victory over the Pendragons the Plainview 2005 championship football team was honored. During half-time Dr. Darron Arlt presented a plaque to the assembled members of the team, inducting them into the Plainview Public Schools’ Hall of Fame.
The team's nomination blank and plaque that will hang in the hallway at PHS reads:
“It’s not how you start, its how you finish. That cliché speaks to the seniors on the 2005 Pirate football team who won just 3 games their first two seasons only to finish with 19 wins their last two seasons. It’s also fitting to describe the 2005 team who dropped their first game of the season before Coach Joe Anderson led them to 11 wins in their final 12 games including a 15 point win in the state title game at UNL’s Memorial Stadium. Ten players on the 2005 team earned postseason honors making this one of the most decorated teams in the proud history of Plainview Pirate Football.”

The Knox County Board of Supervisors has placed Knox County Attorney Hanna Knox Jensen on suspension without pay for her position for one year, eliminated the position of Deputy County Attorney and discharged Chief Deputy Dan Henery and 911 Coordinator Heather Kienow via administrative action on August 27.
The action is immediate, and in a response to findings from a year-long investigation by Special Counsel into "courthouse security" that indicated closed session had been unknowingly listened to in a second microphone that had been recently installed.
A full report will be listed on the Knox County website and details will appear in this week's news.
